Fun Weekend

Last Saturday, I took off from work and we had a family day.  We were given tickets to the Yankees Spring Training game!!  Our very sweet neighbor gave us the tickets as a thank you.  All of us dressed in our Yankee attire.  Ava out grew her Yankee shirt so we went into the store to get her a new one.  Daddy found little baseball hair ties that he thought she HAD to have too...lol =)

She also picked out a hot pink yankee hat.  Here I am fixing her hair and putting her new shirt on.  Ty got a new yankee t shirt for the summer and the little bat that he's holding.

I must say, we do get spoiled when we go to these games.  For instance, we parked for free because Dusty knew the cops working the parking.  We didn't only park for free...we parked REALLY close!  Works for me!  Also, the people remember Dusty in the store, so they give us a % off on all merchandise.  We appreciate it soooo much.  They are really so very nice there.

Before we even sat down we got hotdogs and fries!  I'm all about eating at these sports events! Then we were on to the cotton candy!!  We also had fresh squeezed lemonade, a pretzel, soft serve ice cream and the kids had dippin dots! Yum!

This is cotton candy stuck to her hands.

I have to say..Man!!  Our neighbors have some AWESOME seats!!  We were just right of the dugout just 3 rows up.  Pretty cool.  In this picture below you can kind of tell how close we were.
I feel like Ty had a little more interest this year as opposed to other years.  Dusty was explaining things to him and he seemed to enjoy listening.
Ty was thrown a ball from the 1st base umpire!  He was so excited!  Later, we ran into the sergeant that runs the off duty for Legends Field and he told Ty that he would have the ball signed for him!  He put it in Curtis Granderson's (he's the one who had hit the ball when the 1st base umpire got it) locker to have it signed.  See?  We were totally spoiled!  Ty couldn't be happier.
We got up and walked around a little.
We were standing around for a little while because Dusty was visiting with some people that happened to be in town, at the game, from his hometown Madison, NJ!  They found Dusty because they knew that he was a cop and asked one of the cops who was working there if they knew Dusty.  The cop was like, "yeah, in fact, he's here!"  ....that's how we met up with them.

The kids at this point were getting a little crazy!  It was funny because it wasn't that they weren't getting along...they were...they were just being so silly together!  I imagine that that's how it is with kids who are closer in age!  Usually my 2 are arguing...it's just so weird to me that they weren't!!  They were annoying ME!!  lol...they were having fun though!
Here we are with Brett Weber...Dusty went to college with him and used to play ball with him, he's now a coach with the Yankees, and then there's Ron Doc, his first year with the Yankee's was Dusty's first year.  He's the Substance Abuse Counselor.  And the little guy to the right is Joe Girardi's son, Donte.
It was definitely busy.  It was a beautiful day, finally a little warmer with some sun.  There's the Buc's stadium in the background.
Here's a little Jeter for you.
We really had such a great day!  What fun memories we built with our kiddos.

We finished the night out with a sunday evening church service, then dinner with Shauna, Danny(Dusty's twin brother) and Callie(my niece), and then a sleepover!
Here's Ty, Callie, and Ava.  They have been wanting to have a sleepover for quite some time.  They were all snuggled in with their blankets and popcorn and a good movie.

Good Times.
