I took off a few days this week to be with the kids on their spring break. We've had a great couple of days. Here are a few things that have kept us BUSY!
Yesterday started our fun with Mc Donald's in the car! Ty's showing that he ate off the the adult menu. That EMPTY container would be a double quarter pounder with cheese--GONE! And he ate all of the fries, too!!
I took the kids to the downtown library. They checked out 6 books each!
Ava chose quite a few American Girl books.
Ty picked all non-fiction books about fish and other animals.
The train below is in the kids section of the library.
We put the books in the car and walked down to the new playground that is by the new art museum downtown.
In the picture below is a dog park behind them.
The kids met several dogs this day. Ava was good about asking the owner very nicely if the dogs were friendly and if she could pet them. Ty would just follow after she asked. Just like her Daddy....never met a stranger!! It's a blessing in some ways, but I have to look out for her!
My kiddos are animal lovers but we are the dogless house! We (really it's Ty's) have a beta fish named Oscar and that's about it!
Finally the park!
(That's the art museum behind the kids.)
This is an usual park. My 2 kind of looked around and tried everything out and then watched other kids to see how they were playing on some of the things and then they would give it a try.
Below Ty was spinning around a bunch of times and I caught him just perfectly!!
This thing below spun around as you walked on it. You have to have some good balance to do it! The kids played on this one for quite a while.
This is an interactive game area with lights and sounds. It's pretty cool. I played some with Ty and then he found a friend to play with.
Next we went home and rolled coins to put in the bank. We had the "give, save, spend" talk as we got the money in order.
Later we took Ty to spend a gift certificate he had to target. He had a blast picking things out that he wanted. Ava had already spent hers, but she decided to spend a couple dollars of her own on a little something for herself.
We ended the day with a dinner out with my parents (Mimi and Papa) for Ty's AWESOME report card! We are so proud of him!
